How to Enable User Registration on WordPress Multisite

In this tutorial “How to Enable User Registration on WordPress Multisite” you will learn how to enable user registration on your WordPress multisite network.

Before Enabling User Registration on Your WordPress Multisite

When you install the WordPress and enable WordPress multisite on it then by default the user registration is disabled on your site so your site visitors can’t create user accounts on your site.

To allow visitors to create user account on your WordPress multisite, you should enable user registration on your WordPress multisite.

By registering and logging in on your site the users can use the services easily that need user authentication to use them like commenting on posts / pages, creating blog on your multisite network etc.

You will also benefit from allowing users to resister on your WordPress multisite as when the user registers on your site then he provides his email address to uniquely identify him on your site. You can use that email address to send him your site updates, news and promotions etc.

By default when the user registration is not enabled on your site then the default log in screen on your site on the URL http://yoursitedomain.com/wp-login.php ( Replace yoursitedomain with your site address ) displays as following where the user registration link is not displayed.

  1. This enables default registration process of wordpress but when I uses get_option(‘users_can_register’) it gives false or 0.
That means user registration is disabled.
Please help me to solve this.
