How to Enable Comments in WordPress

When you install the WordPress then the comments are enabled by default for posts so you don’t have to enable comments on your site but later you or somebody changes the comment settings in the WordPress site to disable it and you want to enable it again or want to enable the comments for pages which are disabled by default since WordPress version 4.3.

But you either don’t know how to enable the comments or forgot about it.

Not an issue at all. Here below i am going to tell you how you can enable the comments again on your WordPress site.

Enable Comments on All New Posts and Pages

You can enable the comments on all new posts and pages by checking the option “Allow people to post comments on new articles” in the Discussion Settings of your site admin area on the following path as shown in the below screenshot.

Admin Area -> Settings -> Discussion -> Default article settings

Enable Comments on All New Posts and Pages

After checking the above described option “Allow people to post comments on new articles” the comments will be enabled for all new posts and pages but it will not enable the comments for those old existing posts and pages where comments are disabled in an individual post or page.

You can enable the comments in an individual post or page as described below.

Enable Comments in an Individual Post or Page

You can enable the comments in an individual post or page by checking the option “Allow comments.” in the Discussion box in an edit post or page screen as shown in the following screenshot.

You can also use the WordPress plugin like No Page Comment to enable comments for all individual posts or pages with just one click.
