    I installed the plugin on http://sustainingourworld.com. I expected a search box to appear in the (green) navigation bar. Instead, I see a magnifying glass icon in the upper right of the header area, but no search box unless I mouse over it. It took me a while to notice it was even there. The search I executed worked, but I really need to have a visible search box, preferably in line with the menu.

    You have to configure the plugin settings on your site as displayed on this page http://freewptp.com/plugins/add-search-to-menu/

    When I installed the plugin, the “default” and “primary menu” were already selected. That’s what I want. I have tried other combinations, but they make no difference to the appearance on the blog.

    After saving the plugin settings, please make sure to clear the WP-Super-Cache or temporary disable it which you are using on your site.

    Sorry, but it still doesn’t work. I saved, deleted the cache, viewed the site, deactivated the cache plugin, and viewed the site again.

    Thank you for sharing screenshots.

    You have to select Primary location in Menus display location as shown in the attached screenshot.

    Thanks. That worked. Is there any way to put the search box at the far right of the navigation bar? Also, but less important, is there any way to get rid of the magnifying glass icon that still appears above the navigation bar?

    To achieve this use the following custom CSS code as described on this page http://freewptp.com/how-to-use-custom-css-in-wordpress-site/

    li.search-menu.search-menu.default {
        float: right;
    }
    #header-search {
        display: none;
    }
